The CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs will provide you with the skills, knowledge and expertise to support people with alcohol and other drugs (AOD) abuse problems. You will gain insight on how to provide a range of services and implement relevant health programs and interventions within the community.

While studying the 
CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs you will develop and refine the skills that are necessary to work in community based organisations, withdrawal services, residential rehabilitation services and various outreach programs under the guidance of other practitioners and professionals. Alcohol and Drug Support Worker
As an entry role position an Alcohol and Drug (AOD) Support Worker specialises in providing person-centred care that identifies and responds to the needs of an individual that is experiencing substance abuse problems.

Alcohol and Drug Case Worker
As a Case Worker you will be responsible for providing ongoing support in the areas of employment, training, housing, living requirements and the required social skills to ensure that your clients recovery gains are maintained.

Alcohol and Drug Outreach Worker
As an Alcohol and Drug Outreach Worker you would be responsible for trying to reduce the harmful things that can be associated with drugs and alcohol and work towards the improvement of your clients health and wellbeing.

CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health with ACCLM.

2. Bachelor Degree
Bachelor of Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs

3. Masters Degree
Example: Master of Counselling.

Online Course Delivery
The course is delivered completely online with no compulsory classroom attendance required. A sound level of computer literacy is expected from students. Online delivery provides you with maximum flexibility, allowing you to study anywhere and anytime.

As all training materials and assessments are delivered online, you must have access to a good computer with internet access. You have online access to your facilitator and other support.

Tutorial Sessions
The Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs course includes optional live sessions over Zoom where students can interact with their trainer and peers, have their questions answered, and receive additional support with their studies. Participation in these sessions is not mandatory.

Weekend Workshops
Virtual workshops will be held throughout the course to provide practical application of your skills and knowledge.

Students will be provided with information regarding available tutorial sessions and weekend workshops throughout their studies.

A variety of assessment methods will be utilised to assess the student’s competency in each unit of this qualification. Each unit of competency for the Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs course will be assessed using any 3 of the following assessment methods:

Knowledge Test
Question and answer responses that require independent research.

Case Studies
Case studies are analyses of persons, events, decisions, periods, projects, policies, organisations, or other systems that are studied holistically by one or more methods.

Roleplay
Roleplay assessment through direct, indirect observation by the trainer/assessor in a simulated workplace environment.
