Need to Expand Aged Care Programs

Expanding Aged Care Programs – Australia’s aged care industry must substantially expand its programs, recruit more nursing and care staff, and adapt the range of services to the growing needs of the fast ageing demographic.

The aged care reforms released in April 2012 entitled Living Longer, Living Better is only the first step in the right direction. Future generations of senior’s need a responsive, inclusive and maintainable nursing plan which will continue to evolve and improve as the requirements of the ageing population increase and change in the years to come.

Organisations need to train more people in the aged and community care sectors. The Certificate III in Individual Support and Diploma of Community Services is just two of many courses on offer by the Australasian College of Care Leadership & Management (ACCLM) that identifies the need of trained professionals in aged and community care.
